Amara La Negra

Singer
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Amara La Negra, born Diana Danelys De los Santon, channels the Sunshine State for inspiration as musical direction to connect globally with her fans. She conveys a vibrant collage of Spanish and Caribbean experience while channeling R&B- and hip hop-inspired concepts in delivery. La Negra has a formal educational background in performing arts, dance, modeling, and acting. Her approach to life and the obstacles that disrupt it are unstoppable. A child of Dominican and Italian descent, her mother was an immigrant who arrived in the United States via the Mexican border. As  head of the household, she supported her daughter’s career by any means necessary, taking her to auditions, and supporting her as La Negra went on to win the Sabado Gigante's contest "Miss Chiquita" in 1994. This was the performer's first international exposure. She’s gone on to be featured in commercials for brands like Hawaiian Punch, Oscar Meyers, and Walt Disney World, to name just a few, and has been part of the Premios Lo Neuestro, Latin Grammys, Premios Juventud, and Latin Billboards, among other notable special engagements broadcast around the world.
