After personally experiencing how daunting, confusing, and broken the justice system can be for sexual assault survivors, Amanda Nguyen and her organization, Rise, created a Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights, which was written and unanimously passed through the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Obama. In this workshop, Amanda will explain how legislation goes from draft to law, through the lens of Rise’s continual to work to pass their Bill at both the state and international levels.
